In August 2017, the category 4 Hurricane Harvey devastated the state of Texas. As the nation’s fourth-largest city with 6.6 million residents, you can only imagine the catastrophic and devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey. The Greater Houston Partnership reports that “Harris County averaged 40 inches of total rainfall from Harvey and nearly every stream, bayou and channel in Harris County was at or above its bank. Overall, Harvey dumped nearly a year’s worth of rainfall on the Houston region.” The images from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey last summer tell the heartbreaking story of the powerful storm that ravaged Texas.
