Home Delivered Meals Program
Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to assist with the following:

  • Unloading trucks
  • Assisting with packing of meals
  • Meal deliver
  • Yard maintenance and minor home repairs for seniors
  • Administrative support
  • Preparation clean-up

  • Women Independently Living and Developing Program
    • Guest speaker(s) on money management

    • Guest speaker(s) on healthy relationships with peers and family members
    • Guest speaker(s) on homeless prevention

    • Female Mentors to provide positive encouragement to residents and to give a young person in need of social, developmental and emotional support the companionship of a caring adult. Mentors will be assigned to resident by the Program Director according to interests, skills, background, knowledge and temperament of both the young person and the mentor.

      Responsible for meeting with the assigned mentee for the agreed-upon time frame (i.e., often weekly meetings via telephone or in person for at least six months). Act as a resource and guide. Work closely with agency staff through phone contact, personal conferences and group meetings. Serve as an example/role model. Accept and relate to youth who may not share the volunteer’s lifestyle and values. Respect the mentee’s right to self-determination and independence.

    • Group Session Leaders: Lead positive discussions with residents on the topics of Effective spending/saving, self-image, self-confidence, healthy relationships, healthy social media exchange, anger management, positive thinking, conflict resolution, proper housekeeping, and continued education. Other topics welcome but require prior approval by Program Director. Sessions should be 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

    • Enrichment - If you have a special talent, skill or interest that you would like to share with WILD for the benefit of our girls, please let us know. Examples are: cooking or baking instruction, sewing or needlework and scrap-booking or crafts. Volunteers to demonstrate healthy and nutritional eating tips. Volunteers are welcome to provide hands on cooking experiences for the residents that foster nutritional eating. Assist residents with identifying healthy foods items to purchase.

    • Education Advocates Assist with attending foster care agencies, homeless shelters, community fairs, and state organization to present program information to the public about transitional housing services.
