YWCA Houston

Food Pantry

There is a common misunderstanding that only the homeless face hunger. But in a city, such as Houston, it’s not always easy to make ends meet, and the number of people at risk of hunger has increased dramatically. We are proud to partner with the Houston Food Bank to distribute over 20,000 pounds of food for 2017, which saves our residents and community over $250 per resident a year in grocery costs. Because we know that fresh, healthy produce and quality food are an important part of health and wellness, our food pantry operates Tuesday and Thursday 10am-2pm and the 3rd Saturday by appointments only at 6309 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., where both our residents and members of our community can supplement their food supply free of charge in a safe, welcoming and culturally competent environment.

We’re always looking for people to join us on a mission to advance women and their families!
